Create interesting textures and effects in your paintings with our crackle paste. This opaque medium can be used on a range of surfaces and is great for both acrylic and oil paints. Handy Hints: For best results paint the crackle onto a smooth, glossy surface Works better on large areas because the paste has more surface area to shrink back to and crackle For smaller crackle effect, apply a thin layer of crackle and wait till dry For larger crackle effect, apply a thin layer of PVA glue to the surface and wait at least 20-30mins before applying crackle paste An even undercoat of glossy acrylic is ideal for timber surfaces Note: If product is applied too quickly it can become ‘immovable’, (impacting the shrinking of the paste), stopping the cracks from properly forming
