Description It wasn’t just the souvenier companies that had all their goodies produced and ready to roll for the impending visit of Princess Elizabeth to Australia in 1952… the military was also organised. The Royal Car Company was formed for the visit and this patch produced . Princess Elizabeth was headed to Australia on the Royal Tour in place of King George VI who was too ill to travel. When George VI died in 1952 the tour was cancelled. Princess Elizabeth became Queen Elizabeth II. She travelled to Australia and other commonwealth countries on a Royal Tour in 1954 and visited 57 cities and towns in 58 days – a very packed schedule. Each patch measures approximately 6cm x 6cm.
